About the Movie
Have you ever wondered:
- What shapes your success when you grow up between two cultures?
- How can you balance family expectations with your own dreams?
- When life brings setbacks and failures, where can you find hope and support?
We warmly invite Chinese and Chinese American friends to join us for a special screening of 《Sight》, an inspiring and moving film based on the true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a Chinese American ophthalmologist.
The film follows Dr. Wang's remarkable journey from a difficult childhood in China to pursuing his dreams in the United States and becoming a world-renowned eye surgeon. Along the way, it explores the challenges faced by immigrant families, as well as the roles that forgiveness, faith, perseverance, and hope play in shaping a meaningful and successful life.
Whether or not your family has an immigrant background, this movie raises thought-provoking questions about identity, purpose, and what truly matters in life.
After the movie, we will have a live online conversation with Dr. Ming Wang himself, the real person behind the story. This will be a relaxed and interactive Q&A where you can share your thoughts and ask questions. His reflection article is included below.
This is also a great opportunity to meet new people, exchange life experiences, and explore deeper questions about meaning and purpose. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious background.
